Lori Stokes came to WABC TV in 2000, and anchors both Eyewitness News This Morning and Eyewitness News at Noon. She comes to WABC TV from MSNBC/NBC, where she was one of the original anchors to launch the 24-hour news cable network in 1996. On a daily basis, the Emmy and AP award winning broadcast journalist interviewed some of the top newsmakers, from international and national political leaders to entertainment figures.

Credited with breaking the news of fashion designer Gianni Versace's murder, Lori also covered the death of JFK, Jr., the Columbine High School Massacre and the Clinton scandal and impeachment. She was also a contributing correspondent for Nightly News Weekend and an anchor on the Weekend Today Show.

Before coming to MSNBC/NBC Lori worked for ABC affiliate WJLA-TV in Washington, D.C. as an evening news anchor for the 6pm, and 11pm broadcasts from 1992-1996. She also anchored and launched WJLA's "Good Morning Washington".

Prior to WJLA-TV, Lori covered crime and street life for the Fox station WBFF in Baltimore, Maryland from 1991 to 1992. While at WBFF she was awarded for her undercover work and in depth reporting. Lori also worked as a weekend anchor at the CBC affiliate WBTV in Charlotte, North Carolina from 1988-1990. She began her on-air career as weekend anchor and medical reporter in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois at CBS affiliate WCIA-TV.

Lori is an alumnus of Howard University and attended Ohio State University. She and her family reside in New Jersey.
