Marina High School, the third oldest of six comprehensive high schools in the Huntington Beach Union High School District, is located in the northwest part of Huntington Beach, California. Since its doors opened in 1963, Marina's success has been measured by its scholastic achievements. Marina excels academically, not only in the District, but also on State and Nationally norm referenced tests, and was recently recognized by Newsweek Magazine as one of the "Best High Schools in America." Marina is committed to developing well-rounded graduates who are collaborative workers, self-motivated learners, critical thinkers, effective communicators, and responsible citizens. If the next forty years at Marina High School are as successful and safe as the previous four decades have been, public education in northwest Huntington Beach will remain rich in academic tradition and student-centered practice.
